Completed Projects
These units are in fact one of the intermediate parts of the steelmaking process, and they are thus highly important. In these units, a reduction gas is used for reducing iron ore pellets to convert them into sponge iron. The resulting sponge iron is sent to the electric arc furnaces in the steelmaking ward. This company has two direct reduction units based on the MIDREX process, with a total annual capacity of 1, 856,000 tons. With a trial period of production from December, 2011 to March, 2012, this unit was officially operationalized by then-President Dr. Ahmadinejad.
